Tips for Doing the Families Laundry
I am a mother of 5 small children so over time I have learnt a few strategies to help stay on top of the laundry load.
Keep at least three baskets in your laundry room to separate clothes. You can either buy a sectioned laundry sorter or use a few laundry baskets. This helps to sort clothes into darks, colors and whites for washing while still keeping order in your laundry room.
Try to do at least one load each day to keep on top of it. It’s amazing how quickly it piles up if you leave it for a day or two.
Be sure to complete the process, make sure that you wash, dry and fold or hang each load as quickly as possible so that your clothes don’t start to pile up or worse still you may forget about that load you put in the washing machine and they go moldy!
Have a designated space to keep your detergents and other cleaning products in your laundry room. It is much easier to get the laundry done if you have everything on hand to do the job.
Try to work to the same schedule each day; this will help you to not forget each step and to also make it a habit so that you won’t even think about doing it. For example put a load of washing on as soon as you wake up, hang it out after breakfast and bring it in once the kids are home for school.
Hang any clothes straight on hangers ready to go into the wardrobes. They can be hung on coat hangers directly from the washing machine and hung on the line on the hangers. This will help to keep crinkles to a minimum and makes it easier to put the clothes away when they are dry.
And last but not least listen to some fun music or your favorite podcast while you work, this will make the time pass quickly and you’ll have your laundry done in no time.

I like the idea of listening to a podcast while I do the washing. I will have to set myself up with this. Thanks for the tip.
