Lara at The Lazy Organizer is the host of Smart Habit Saturday.
What is SHS???
All you do is pick one small daily habit that you want to develop and post about it. Then on Saturday Morning go here and leave a link so that we can read all about it.
We are trying to look after our finances at the moment, so my Smart Habit for this week (and many weeks to come) is to stop using the credit card for purchases.
This means a bit more planning for me, but it will be worth it

This should be one of my SMART habits too. We always pay our card off every month, but it’s still WAY too easy to just use it for things that we don’t really NEED. I wish you the best in forming this new habit! I’ll be thinking of you. I know what it’s like to be in a bit of a pinch — to put it mildly!
Good luck this week! This is something I’ve always struggled with, especially when I’ve just cleared some of the balance. It’s so tempting. My advice: only go to the stores that you know you have to go to {and you have budgeted}, go in for the items on your list and stick to those no matter how many great deals you see. The next day you’ll likely forget about whatever sale item it was since you didn’t need it before going into the store.
That is a great habit to work on! When we were first married we put everything on our credit cards and it turned out lives upside down. My husband had to work two jobs for almost two years and it took us 3 years to get them paid off. Credit card debt stinks.
Good luck to you this week!
Argh, those pesky little pieces of plastic!! This is a great habit! Good luck with it this week!
That is a super habit to implement! As you said, it may take more planning, but I know if I did that then I wouldn’t buy so many unneccessary items. Wouldn’t it be great if we could save more?!
Sticking to a budget can be hard but oh so rewarding in the end. Good luck with your habit!
Excellent strategy.
We got rid of ours completely. Helps a lot.
Hope you succeed!
