I’ve always been pretty good about turning lights off when they aren’t in use – something to do with my dad’s constant nagging I’m sure Recently I’ve removed the toaster from the counter because we don’t use it throughout the day so it’s not plugged in all the time – and I have more counter space. I also try to remember to unplug the coffee pot when I’m finished with that in the morning also. Have a great week! And if you find any other useful tips to save money be sure to share!

I'm always curious about that. Good luck and I hope you save a lot! Have you seen this?
It tells you how much energy something uses, and therefor how much you are saving by not having it plugged in. I don't have one, but am seriously considering it for the next amazon order (they are about $25). You know, which items are "must turn off" items.

I think that’s a GREAT idea! Boy our house is the same way, everything is plugged in and using energy when we aren’t even using it! That’s a total waste of money and resources! So good for you and maybe I’ll work on that too!

In the summer time, our hydro company offered an incentive. If we could cut our bill by 10% (compared to last summer) over the course of July and August and they would give you an additional 10% off.

We did it and would you believe, we actually saved 40% off our bill!

It's amazing how much you can save when you consciously think about it.

Now, I hang almost all of our laundry, unplug unused items like cellphone chargers, baby monitors, etc. Once I got in the habit, it hasn't been that bad.
