Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Can you believe it?

Christmas is less than a week away!

I’m quite proud of myself. I have purchased presents for my family and they are all wrapped and ready. I’m not going to be up until midnight on Christmas Eve wrapping presents this year……. yay!!!!

Tomorrow I will be shopping for food for our family Christmas Party which will be on Sunday. It should be a great day. You may have read in one of my earlier posts that we all dress up for this party and it is great fun. Our costumes are all here, I just need to make a few minor alterations which I will do tomorrow and we will be set to go. I can’t tell you what we are all wearing yet, because I have nosey relo’s that read my blog But I will be sure to get someone to take some photos and I’ll post them here next week.

We have started a new tradition here this year. We have started Popcorn Friday! Which is just a movie afternoon on Fridays after school. We all get our pillows and spread out on the lounge room floor with a big bowl of popcorn and watch a Christmas movie. So far we have watched Barbie’s Christmas Carol, The Santa Claus 1 & 2 and tomorrow we are going to watch The Santa Claus Movie. I think we will continue our popcorn Fridays throughout the year because it has been lots of fun!

Tomorrow is the girls last day of school. They are quite excited about it, but I know that they will miss their friends and their teachers. We got their reports and I was very pleased with all of them. All 3 girls are going really, really well, so we are very proud of them.

We have a bust weekend ahead of us, Saturday night we have Riley’s Preschool Christmas Party at a local kids indoor playground and then on Sunday we have our Family Christmas Party.

Next week I plan on taking things easy and enjoy spending time with the kids making Christmas crafts and baking Christmas cookies. I also have a few other little Christmas projects that I need to finalise before Christmas Day, but again I can’t mention them because of nosey relo’s

Did you know that there are only 3 months until Christmas?

Every year I swear that I am going to get have everything organised early but so far I never have. I am out doing last minute shopping with every other silly person and staying up until past midnight wrapping presents on Christmas Eve. Well not this year, I have promised myself a stress free Christmas this year and with a little bit of planning that’s exactly what I am going to have.

My kids start school holidays next week so one activity that we will be doing is to make Christmas Wish Books, these are simply an exercise book which each child can decorate and start pasting in pictures of things that they would like for Christmas. I have been saving the toy catalogues for the last couple of weeks, so we should have plenty of pictures to get us started.

After school goes back my aim is to try and buy each child 1 present from their book each week until I am done. I am also going to spend 15 minutes or so each week to wrap up and label any presents that I have purchased so that I don’t have the horrible task of wrapping everything at midnight on Christmas Eve.
