Review – Bid4Prizes

I’ve just had a look at bid4prizes, the basic idea of Bid4Prizes is you find a prize that you like and place a bid to win it, but unlike many of the most popular auction websites where the highest bid wins the prize, with Bid4Prizes the lowest unique bid wins, how cool is that!

Unfortunately for me it is for US Residents only, but if that’s you then check it out, it looks like lots of fun!

There is currently an excellent looking Samsung 50” Plasma TV up for Auction which I would definitely keep if I won it. It would look great in my lounge room.

Smart Habit Saturday – Routines

For those of you that know Flylady, you’ll know about morning and night routines. In order to get anything done around here I need routines otherwise I find myself spending to much time on the computer and not enough time doing the things that need to be done to make our household run smoothly.

My routines are broken up into morning, mid-morning, afternoon and night time routines.

I am managing to get my morning routine and night routines done but I am struggling with the mid-morning and afternoon routines.

So this week I am going to work on getting those routines done.

Here are my routines:

Morning

Get up and have a shower
Make breakfast for the kids
Get drink bottles out of freezer and finish packing lunches
Kids get dresses/ Dress Riley
Kids hair and teeth
Take the kids to school

Mid Morning – (This starts when I get home from taking the kids to school)

Quick tidy in my Bedroom
Quick tidy in Riley & Caities Bedroom
Quick tidy in Bathroom
Quick tidy in Chloe & Clare’s Bedroom
Load the washing machine
Quick tidy in Lounge Room
Unload Dishwasher
Load Dishwasher
Wipe the table
Start to prepare dinner

Afternoon – (This starts when we get home from school)

Unpack school bags
Make the kids a snack
Help with homework/Read home readers

Night – (This starts after dinner)

Rinse dinner plates
Prepare clothes for tomorrow
Prepare lunches for tomorrow
Check calender for following days events
Sign any school notes etc
Check whats for dinner tomorrow night and get what’s needed out of the freezer.

I have moved Freezer Food Friday to my new blog A Juggling Mums Food Blog.

Family Fridays

Liz at Monkey Kisses has started a new blog carnival. Here’s what it’s all about:

“Write about something You and your family have done together over the past week or plan on doing, whether it be watching a family friendly movie, a fabulous family recipe, a fun family recipe your child(ren) helped with, a fantastic family game, products your family thinks are far out, or just simply taking a family trip out and about. Whatever it may be we would love to hear about it!”

This has actually come at a good time for us because my poor kids have been a little neglected over the last few weeks. They have had to entertain themselves most of the time which they have done quite happily but i feel bad that I haven’t done much with them. So this week I am going to make a special effort to spend some quality time with the oldest 4 kids.

My kids love to bake things, so I was thinking that we will make some cupcakes and I’ll make up some different coloured icing and let them decorate them themselves. We have lots of different kinds of sprinkles that they can use too.

Menu Plan Monday

Last week was a pretty eventful week for us, starting with the birth of our newest princess Sophie, Caitlins 5th birthday and then my birthday!

This week I am going to take advantage of my crockpot again (oh by the way my parents bought me a new crockpot for my birthday, it has a split bowl so I can cook two things at once, gotta love that :)

I’m also going to take advantage of the fact that Rob is at home for the next couple of weeks to help with the baby and our other kids so I’m going to get some things cooked and stored in the freezer.

So here is our menu for this week:

Monday
Freezer Food – Pizza Scrolls
Dinner –
Crunchy Nut Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables

Tuesday
Baking – Apple and Custard Muffins
Dinner –
Crockpot Lemon Garlic Chicken (Posted on My Family Finances)

Wednesday
Freezer Food – Ice Cream Bucket Lazagna (Posted On Lorie’s Stitch in Time Blog)
Dinner – We’ll have one of these for dinner with some garlic bread and salad

Thursday
Baking – Foundation Biscuit Mix
Dinner –
Crockpot Vegetable Curry

Friday
Freezer Food – Cheater Meatballs and Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes (Posted on Journey to Simplicity)
Dinner –
Crockpot Barbecue Meatballs

Saturday
Baking – Choc Chip Cookies
Dinner –

$20 Challenge – Week Two

Here we are in Week 2 of the $20 challenge.

This week I have earnt my $20 (plus some extra) in 2 different ways.

I sold 3 DVDs on eBay making me a profit of $14.46.

I was also paid for 2 of my Payperpost reviews this week which came to a total of $12.66.

I’m finding that the best way to achieve any results for me is to plan ahead. Basically I am working one week to achieve my challenge goals in the coming weeks.

Next week will be an interesting one. I don’t currently have any DVD Auctions on eBay or any DVDs here to sell and I am not due to be paid for any Payperpost reviews, so in order to achieve my goal for next year I am going to be listing some items we have lying around here on eBay and hoping for the best.

This weeks earnings – $27.12
Total Challenge earnings – $55.72

How did you go with the challenge??? Link to your blog post below.
